Standard for receiving certificate in Intermediate Level:
-
Certificates of a certain rank are awarded to test takers whose overall scores have reached the passing point of that rank, also with passing scores in at least two of the three test sections.
- Test takers whose overall scores have reached the passing point of a rank, but with passing scores in only one of three test sections, will be awarded the certificate of one rank below. Certificates will not be awarded on a level on which the students have not registered for.
Assume a test taker’s overall score has reached the passing point for Rank 4 on the Intermediate Level, i.e. 102~120, but only one of the section scores has reached the passing point for Rank 4 (Listening: 42-50; Vocabulary & Grammar: 26-30; Reading: 34-40). Then, the test taker will be awarded the certificate for Rank 3 on the Intermediate Level.
However, the above can not be applied for the issuance of a certificate on a lower level.
For instance, if the overall score of a test taker has reached the passing point for Rank 3 (90-101), with only one out of three section scores reaching the requirements for Level 3 (Listening: 37-41; Vocabulary & Grammar: 23-25; Reading: 30-33), the test taker will not be awarded a certificate for Rank 2 on the Basic Level.
- Test takers whose overall scores have not reached the minimum requirements of a certain rank will NOT be awarded any certificates.
